Cervest Names Matthew Vanderzee as CTO; Climate intelligence leader expands U.S. team with second C-level appointment

LONDON – 21 September, 2022 – Climate intelligence (CI) company Cervest today announced the appointment of Matthew Vanderzee as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Seattle-based Vanderzee is Cervest’s second U.S.-based executive, joining COO Karan Chopra who works from San Francisco.

Vanderzee is an experienced technology leader with broad experience building and scaling technical and engineering teams in hyper-growth companies. Prior to joining Cervest, he was VP of Engineering at robotic process automation and hyper-automation unicorn UI Path, where he led the data strategy, discovery, process and task mining verticals. He previously held VP of Engineering roles at enterprise-facing data science companies serving a cross-section of industries, including cybersecurity, industrial communication, and healthcare.

Reporting to Founder and CEO Iggy Bassi, Vanderzee will lead the development of Cervest’s technology strategy and implementation roadmap to support the company’s global growth.

He will lead the team building the scalable, cloud-native and customer-centric climate intelligence platform built on the company’s groundbreaking Earth Science AI™ technology. Based on five years of scientific research, Earth Science AI makes it possible to deliver decision-useful climate intelligence to users through Cervest’s EarthScan™ product.

Vanderzee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computation and Neural Systems from Caltech, and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan.
